The stark, blood red cover means that this A5 comic is hard to avoid, which has to be a good thing. Amongst his globe trotting and status as Australian comics ambassador to the rest of the world John puts out the occasional comic. He would be first to admit that his artwork won't win any awards, but his "anyone can do it" attitude means we get to read these entertaining stories.

Most of this issue is taken up with autobiographical ponderings on the plight of his Cambodian students learning English as a second language in Australia. The anti immigrant sentiment stirred up by the likes of Pauline Hanson makes things all the more difficult for his pupils.

We also get the humorous adventures of Slugdog (half Slug, half dog), a daydream about a visit to the dentist and Jam comic about identity. In all this is an amusing collection of work, a good example of what the freedom of the small press format allows.
