"Small Doubts"

Peter David scribes an unpretentious adventure in which the quest to cure Bruce Banner of his Hulk-outs goes awry.

David, as usual, drops in several pop culture references as jokes, and these are hit and miss. His characterization, though, excels and despite being the creator, or spinner if you like, of many different incarnations of the Hulk, he gives a comfortable interpretation of the Marvel Adventures Hulk, who in general is like the classic '70s Hulk, just a wee bit smarter.

David likewise crafts an enjoyable outrageous persona for the villain of the piece. Rick's guile is apt and a believable catalyst for outwitting the arrogant dictator.

The denouement is easily the best scene. It exemplifies the merging of talents. Santacruz, Fernandez and Marin translate David's sense of humor and maintain a heroic look for the Hulk, generating an ideal moment.
