"You killed me, you prick!"

I can't think of many books that are more consistently written and drawn like Fables. Bill Willingham has created a masterpiece which shows action, intrigue, wit, and the most bizarre adventure in ways you never thought possible. Where else are you going to find a sluttish Goldilocks on a motorcycle with a machine gun?

As Snow White and Bigby Wolf continue to be pursued by who they discover to be Goldilocks, Prince Charming unmasks the treachery of Bluebeard back in Fabletown. The ensuing swordfight goes to the death, and as with everything in Fables, it is done in the utmost grandeur. Ms. White and Mr. Wolf continue to be going further toward a relationship, as their characters are further developed in this issue. Next time will probably see a confrontation between Goldilocks and Mr. Wolf.

This series just keeps getting better and better. It really is an ongoing story, which unfortunately does not cater well to first time readers. Presenting these characters in such a clever and ingenious way, it's no wonder this book is becoming so popular. The art comes from Mark Buckingham, who I'm pleased to say crafts this in a simple, realistic style. He's just as good with action scenes as he is story portrayal and facial expressions. I also liked the little "dots" he used for shadow---very retro! :D

As stated before, this won't really appeal to those who crave action comics, or maybe even some new readers, but if you like intelligent directions and the unexpected, this is certainly the book for you.
