Roddenberry Productions is a thought-provoking leader in the field of science fiction and fantasy programming. Developed on the principles that guided its namesake, “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry (1921-1991), the company is developing 21st-century content true to the Roddenberry vision.

Led by Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, Jr. and his business partner, Trevor Roth, Roddenberry Productions is committed to developing the highest caliber sci-fi entertainment across a spectrum of media. Built around the central tenet that viewers should play an active role in the creation of the content that they consume, Roddenberry Productions produces properties that challenge fans to think, question and explore the world in which they live.

Since 2004 the duo has been working on a soon-to-be-complete documentary, currently titled, “Trek Nation.” In 2008 Roddenberry Productions unveiled two new flagship properties: “Rod & Barry” and “Gene’s Journal.” The two weekly webcomics represent the shifting focus of Roddenberry to deliver sci-fi content to fans through modern channels, demonstrating the new edge and approach of Roddenberry. In “Rod & Barry,” two extraterrestrial visitors, sent to scout Earth for annihilation, end up discovering science fiction entertainment and spend most of their debating this new passion in an adolescent “Siskel & Ebert” style. In “Gene’s Journal,” readers see the untold story behind the boyhood years of Gene Roddenberry, who is continually abducted by aliens. His experiences, faithfully recorded in his journal, would later develop into some of the greatest science fiction television has ever seen.

In addition to developing original content, Roddenberry Productions has remained true to the philosophy of its founder by providing a voice and opportunities to sci-fi fans everywhere. From being the world premiere destination for Star Trek devotees hoping to watch the latest Star Trek: New Voyages episode, to sponsoring fan-run events and conventions around the world, Roddenberry is constantly finding ways to give back to those who have given it so many years of success.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Roddenberry Productions is developing an ever-evolving slate of entertainment and creating new communities for their fans to become a part of the Roddenberry experience. From bringing them the first-ever Roddenberry Revolution Party during the Trekkie Mecca Creation convention in Las Vegas to licensing the Roddenberry name for the newest in technological advancements, Roddenberry truly is…where sci-fi begins.
