Ovi Nedelcu Releases HC Sketchbook

From the creator of the critically acclaimed comic "PIGTALE" comes his new book, DESENE: SKETCHES & SCIBBLES. Explore a host of sketches and designs by designer/illustrator Ovi Nedelcu, in their purest form and impulse. These sketches and scribbles are taken directly from both his analog and digital sketchbooks and collected for the first time ever in a new deluxe hardcover book. Also included are Ovi's notes and thoughts as he takes you through some of the processes and techniques involved in his work.

About his critically-acclaimed PIGTALE comicbook, Nedelcu said it will go to a Mini-series/graphic novel(GN) format from #5. "The GNs will come out twice a year (containing 4 issues each), but will also be available and put out in monthly-single issues prior to the release of the GNs. I’m doing this for a number of reasons, but mostly because the bi-monthly format isn’t working as planned with my schedule and also, I'd like the audience to be able to read the story arcs all in one sitting. Kinda like watching a movie," said Nedelcu.

Published by Image Comics, PIGTALE debuted to a storm of rave reviews like Thefourthrail.com's, which said: "There's a brutish quality to his look, but there's a softness to him as well." Vroom Socko of Aintitcoolnews.com said he found the comicbook "Funny, charming, and [with] personality to spare. Komikwerks.com's Special Features Editor, Abdulkareem Baba Aminu said: "One look at PIGTALE’s cast, and you know this is a functional dysfunctional world of characters with character (pun definitely intended!)."

DESENE: SKETCHES & SCIBBLES also includes a foreword by movie director Henry Selick. Ovi Nedelcu will be at the San Diego Comicon from July 14th-17th.
