Super Real partners with GraphicSmash.com just in time for the fall TV season!
Starting Wednesday September 15th, the creator-owned reality TV based graphic series Super Real debuts as an online webcomic with Graphic Smash, sister site to ModerTales.com, the leading subscription based webcomics service.
Creator Jason Martin is excited to bring Super Real to the world of online comics this fall in addition to plans for a print version in early 2005, and finds Graphic Smash a perfect fit for the series that can be described as X-Men meets Survivor, or The Real World with super powers.
In creating Super Real for the comic book market, creator Jason Martin always envisioned it as translating to all forms of media and appealing to an audience beyond traditional comics, “Once approached by T Campbell of Graphic Smash, I saw a great opportunity and fit for Super Real! I don’t think online comic readers and print comic fans necessarily cross over, so there’s definitely room for both.” Graphic Smash editor T. Campbell adds, "Jason Martin's a devoted reality-show fan and a devoted fan of super-powered comics storytelling, and he understands the appeal of both. Don't believe me? Just watch."
Graphic Smash specializes in Action-adventure webcomics for the new generation of comics readers, and provides Super Real the opportunity to reach a new and wider audience. Graphic Smash and the Modern Tales family of subscription-based webcomics serve thousands of paying readers and tens of thousands of daily non-paying readers. The comics on Graphic Smash and its sister sites can be followed for free, if a reader logs in daily (the latest strip for every series is always free). However, to gain access to the entire archives of all strips, a nominal subscription fee is required.
Tune in Wednesdays this fall to find out what happens when reality television and comic book fiction collide to take everything to the next level, and become Super Real.
