DC COMICS CONTENT FEATURED ON AOL RED

AOL RED, the newly launched teen site on AOL, features a special "Comics & Anime" section spotlighting projects from DC Comics. Among the projects currently at the site are DC: THE NEW FRONTIER, THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN, the new DC FOCUS titles and the WildStorm graphic novel THE LIFE EATERS.

"We've had a great time working with the enthusiastic people at AOL who really see the value of comics for this new area aimed at teens. They constantly ask for additional information about our books and products and you'll be seeing lots more in the weeks to come," says Richard Bruning, DC's Senior VP - Creative Director. "This is an excellent opportunity to expose a large audience to all the exciting things going on at DC Comics, and we're looking forward to expanding our presence on AOL RED in the near future."

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY SPOTLIGHTS GRAPHIC NOVELS

The December 22 issue of Publishers Weekly includes the article "Comics Shops Sell Books, Too," in which Douglas Wolk looks at growth in graphic novel sales in comic book specialty stores. The article features quotes from DC Comics President & Publisher Paul Levitz, and includes the cover from THE SANDMAN: ENDLESS NIGHTS.

This issue also includes a review of POINT BLANK (STAR20028) by Ed Brubaker and Colin Wilson , noting its "clever narrative tricks."

TIME.COM NAMES THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME 2 ONE OF 2003'S BEST

Time.com has included THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME 2 (STAR20124), by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, on its list of the year's ten best comics, with Andrew Arnold writing, "It's pure entertainment that also involves topical themes of foreign threats, WMDs and gene-splicing."

STUART SCHRECK NAMED ASSISTANT MANAGER - DIRECT SALES

Stuart Schreck, a member of DC's Direct Sales department since 1999, has been promoted to Assistant Manager - Direct Sales. Schreck continues to work with East Coast retailers on a day-to-day basis, reporting to Manager - Direct Sales Vince Letterio.

"I'm excited about all the new possibilities and new responsibilities this promotion presents," says Schreck. "I look forward to contributing even more to the Direct Sales team and retailers in the future! Go Air Wave!"

"Stuart's been an integral part of the sales group since he joined the staff, and this is a well-deserved promotion," says Letterio.

Schreck joined DC Comics in 1999 as Representative - Direct Sales. Before that, he was manager of Comic Attitudes on Staten Island. He graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1994.

VINNIE COSTA JOINS DIRECT SALES AS REPRESENTATIVE - EVENTS & RETAILER SERVICES

DC Comics' Direct Sales department welcomes Vinnie Costa as Representative - Events & Retailer Services. Costa reports to Fletcher Chu-Fong, Manager - Events & Retailer Services, and assists with convention and meeting planning and fulfills retailers' promotional requests.

"Vinnie brings enthusiasm and passion for comics to his new position, as well as expertise in the travel industry," says Fletcher Chu-Fong, "We're going to a lot of conventions next year, and Vinnie will have a major role in our success for 2004."

"I've been reading comics since I was twelve, starting with THE NEW TEEN TITANS," says Costa. "I'm really looking forward to assisting the retail community in whatever way I can. If it helps retailers sell more books, I'm happy to do it!"
