Leela Corman Illustrates New York Press Cover

New York cartoonist Leela Corman (Subway Series, Queen's Day) illustrated the cover to this week's edition of New York Press, New York's premiere alternative newspaper.

Corman's lavish calligraphic drawing style, described as "Music to my eyes" by cartoonist Scott McCloud (Understanding Comics, Reinventing Comics), has been in rapidly increasing demand by art directors since her breakout 2002 Subway Series graphic novel (Alternative Comics; ISBN 1-891867-14-8). Recent illustrations for The New York Times, YM Magazine (formerly Young Miss Magazine), and Alibi are among her more recent assignments while Corman is researching for an ambitious upcoming graphic novel.
