THE CRITICS MARVEL AT THE CAPTAIN!
Early Reviews for CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 Are Out Of This World!

Early reviews of the three U-Decide titles have reached The House... and critics have proclaimed that CAPTAIN MARVEL #1, by Peter David and ChrisCross, could win it all!

Mike Sangiacomo, The Cleveland Plain Dealer: "The vote is in on Marvel's three-way comic competition nicknamed 'U-Decide and the winner is (drum roll please), CAPTAIN MARVEL... David's first contest issue raises the series to a new level, and I always thought it was one of Marvel's best to begin with."

Marcus Farrell, of Zentertainment.com: "David's first task was to make CAPTAIN MARVEL user-friendly to those who (like me) have never read the book. David easily succeeds through the narration of Rick Jones, who explains the situation in an off-the-cuff manner. David's second task was to make the book grab your attention and hold it to the next issue. Here, David succeeds as well with a complex tale of morality and the path less traveled. From first appearances, CAPTAIN MARVEL is the best of the three in the U-Decide event."

Andrew Goletz, of AintItCoolNews.com: "It's evident that the book is changing course and the new tone is much more accessible and interesting than the previous run... The book has switched gears from telling goofy cosmic stories with a backdrop set in and around a comic store in California to a high end introspective character study showing the effects that having limitless power can do to an individual. Genis is a relative newcomer to the world of heroics and in trying to live up to the legacy of his father, the possibility for mistakes and subsequent failure are high. Who knows what David has in store for the rest of the initial arc, but this first issue definitely puts things on the right track and is the best issue this series has seen since its beginning. If nothing else, this U-Decide contest has given David an excuse to go back to the well and pull out some of the best storytelling of his career."

Comic Shop News: "This relaunch makes CAPTAIN MARVEL accessible to everyone -- including established fans and those who have never given the series a try. Marvel's U-Decide competition kicks off with a trio of titles, but there's no doubt which one is the creative winner!"

But don't forget that you are the final judge when it comes to the U-Decide contest, so cast your vote when CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 (along with MARVILLE #1 and ULTIMATE ADVENTURES #1) zooms into comics shops on September 18th!
