Swish Into Action #1

By Tom Brevoort
Print This Item

The oldest surviving example of Tom's earliest attempts at creating comics, SWISH INTO ACTION was done in the second grade. It's a fairly credible attempt for an eight-year-old--and the lettering never did get much better over the years.

SWISH INTO ACTION derives much of its entertainment value from its unintentionally-provocative title. This would be a very different comic book if it was done today.

The Swish, clearly derived from the Flash, met his demise in SATBERIA: THE SECRET CRISIS in KUSO in 1987--which didn't stop Kid Swish from assuming the mantle in the later KUSO: ACTS OF VENGEANCE in 1990.
